The first meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee of the Armenia–UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2026–2030 was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia. The meeting was co-chaired by Robert Abisoghomonyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia, and Françoise Jacob, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan emphasized the importance of implementing programmes stemming from the Framework, based on Armenia’s needs and priorities, as well as ensuring coordination and accountability in programme cooperation. It was stressed that the development of national capacities should serve as a key benchmark for the successful implementation of these programmes.

Robert Abisoghomonyan placed particular emphasis on prioritizing vulnerable populations within the framework of programme cooperation, specifically refugees, as well as the development needs of border and rural communities.

Representatives of the relevant state agencies of the Republic of Armenia and UN agencies, who coordinate the sectoral implementation of the Framework, participated in the meeting.

During the discussions, progress made since the adoption of the Framework was assessed, and priorities for the coming months were outlined, aligning them with the 2026–2031 Programme of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
